Try “boiling” weeds to get rid of them. A boiling pot of water is one the best and safest herbicides you can find. Pour the boiling water directly onto the weeds, just make sure you do not damage the nearby plants. Boiling water damages the weed roots and will inhibit future growth.

To help them out, try poring leftover water from steamed vegetables on them. Used teabags or grounds from coffee are a great way to add acid to the soil. Chamomile tea is a natural way to rid your plants of a persistent fungus.

Plan your garden, and plant with fall colors in mind. But, that does not have to be the case! the most colorful foliage appears in the fall. Maple, beech, and dogwood trees are many colors in the fall, from yellow to a deeper crimson. Barberry, conaneaster and hydrangea are all wonderful choices in shrubs.

If you want to keep dogs our of your garden, take some aftershave, old perfume, or any other scented item and spray the grass around the area. Your dog will find more interesting scents to explore elsewhere and leave your garden alone.
